"An Illinois man who police say held five people hostage in a motel in Fort Madison, Iowa, was arrested after he sent two of his hostages on a beer run.
Police say 33-year-old Jason Slagel of Moline is charged with five counts of false imprisonment and going armed with intent. They say Slagel pulled a knife during an argument Tuesday night with another man and told the people in the room that they wouldn’t be allowed to leave.
One man was cut and Slagel had a cut on his hand, but police say the injuries weren’t serious.
Police say Slagel eventually got thirsty and sent two hostages out for beer.
After they left, they called police and Slagel was arrested without incident."

"A curious cow had to be freed by the RSPCA after getting her head stuck in a fly-tipped washing machine drum.
The lucky cow escaped injury after her ordeal - but the animal charity warned today that fly tipping can cause animals harm.
The RSPCA was called to rescue the heifer from a field at Higher Fraddon, St Columb, Cornwall.
"It is one of the more unusual things we had had to rescue an animal from," said RSPCA spokeswoman Jo Barr today.
"Young cows are quite curious, and she probably thought there was some food inside the drum," she added.
A member of the public spotted the frustrated animal trying to free herself from the metal drum.
RSPCA inspector David Hobbs, rescued the heifer on 19 August, and she returned to her herd unharmed."

“The nut got stuck on his penis following an erection, the Star newspaper said, forcing him to seek help at a hospital in southern Johor state.
Staff from the Sultanah Aminah hospital had to drain some blood from the penis and cut away a top layer of skin before the object could be removed, the newspaper said.
It said the fire and rescue department were also involved in trying to remove the nut from the unnamed welder, who is in his 20s and hoped the nut would weigh down his penis to make it longer.
“The patient is now recovering and we hope to discharge him today (Sunday),” hospital director Daud Abdul Rahim told the Star.
On August 25, another young man in Kuala Lumpur had tried to increase his sexual prowess by slipping a steel ring around his penis, forcing the fire department to cut off the ring after doctors were unable to remove it, the newspaper said.”
